ALF is teaming up with Neurodiversity in Business and Alexandria Crystal for an exciting campaign we’re launching on Wednesday 12th February, and we’d love your support to help spread the word.

We’re backing an important petition calling for universal screening for neurodivergent conditions and improved teacher training—ensuring that no neurodivergent child is failed to be identified and gets the support they need to achieve their full potential. The Accessible Learning Foundation (ALF)and Neurodiversity in Business (NiB) are coming together to support this petition, started by sixth-form student and dyslexia campaigner Alexandria Crystal.

Alexandria’s story is one that will resonate with so many. She wasn’t diagnosed with dyslexia until she was 14 years old after she had developed coping strategies that eventually couldn’t keep up with the demands of her GCSEs. Because she didn’t present as a “typical” dyslexic student, her struggles went unnoticed until she was on the verge of exhaustion.

Determined to prevent others from facing the same barriers, Alexandria began campaigning, winning multiple awards last year, including the British Dyslexia Association’s Outstanding Young Person of the Year.

This petition follows on from the Neurodivergent Conditions (Screening and Teacher Training) Bill, which was introduced in Parliament last year by Matt Hancock but unfortunately stalled when the General Election was called. Despite its cross-party support, no current MP has yet taken up the Bill, so Alexandria has taken matters into her own hands to push for change.

How You Can Help

We’re officially launching the campaign to reach 100,000 signatures on Wednesday 12th February at 8am across social media, and we’d love your help to make as much noise as possible!

We’d really appreciate it if you could:

✅ Share the petition on your website and social media channels

✅ Encourage your followers and members to sign and spread the word

✅ Engage with the campaign—like, comment, repost, or even post your own message of support

This is a real chance to make a difference. Too many neurodivergent children are struggling because they’re not identified early enough and don’t get the support they need. We need to come together as a community to push for change and make sure the Government listens.

If you have any questions or need more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks so much for your support—we really appreciate it!
